A graduate in Electrical and Communications Engineering and holds a Higher National Diploma in Health Systems Management, with over twenty years of experience in hospital engineering and related infrastructure plants, primarily in medical facilities and hospitals. I also hold an HND qualification in Health Systems Management from KMTC. My career includes working as a Technical Officer in both regional and national workshops, overseeing maintenance for all health facilities in collaboration with health unit technicians. As an Electrical and Refrigeration Engineer at a government hospital, I ensured the correct design and installation of standby generators, boilers, hospital plants, and mini hydro power plants. I have designed and installed piped medical gases with generators that produce oxygen, as well as central suction systems and medical air systems.
In addition, I have coordinated specialized equipment training and acquisition for users and biomedical technicians, focusing on ultrasound, diagnostic, and refrigeration equipment. Currently, I am working at the National Referral Workshop at CHAK, where I helped start and run a quality assurance and control program in radiology and anaesthesia services. I also initiated and managed an oxygen manifold project with the Emergency Medicine Kenya Foundation for AED units nationwide. My consultancy work includes serving Amref Health Africa on oxygen infrastructure, liquid oxygen, and PSA plant installations under the Global Fund and USAID interventions against the COVID-19 pandemic.
Through training and partnerships with international organizations such as IAEA, GIZ, and EAC medical devices committees, I have acquired x-ray safety assessment equipment, point-of-care ultrasound machines, and refrigeration equipment for in-house training in facilities with low resource settings, ensuring their competitiveness in the medical services sector.
