A high-level delegation led by Dr. Daniel Kotei, alongside representatives from Jhpiego, an affiliate of Johns Hopkins University, for an extensive factory tour, quality assessment, and equipment inspection as part of the Ghana Medical Oxygen Project under the USAID/RISE/Jhpiego initiative.

The Ghana Health Service delegation also included Dr. Ebo Hammond, Director of Health Administration & Support Services, and Dr. Nicodemus Kafui Kebe, Deputy Director of Clinical Engineering. Jhpiego was represented by Dr. Paa Kobina Forson, Technical Director for Jhpiego Ghana.

Cryonorm BV, global leaders in ambient vaporizers and change-over systems hosted the delegation in the Netherlands. The visit opened with an in-depth presentation showcasing Cryonorm’s global footprint, engineering excellence, and contributions to medical oxygen infrastructure worldwide.

The delegation then proceeded to Auguste Cryogenics in Slovakia for a comprehensive factory tour and live equipment demonstration. During the visit, the team conducted a detailed inspection of the cryogenic oxygen tanks, reviewing manufacturing processes, safety systems, and quality control standards. The delegation expressed strong confidence and satisfaction in the exceptional quality, reliability, and performance of the equipment assessed.

This strategic engagement marks a major milestone in strengthening Ghana’s medical oxygen capacity, enhancing health system resilience, and advancing the delivery of lifesaving oxygen therapy across the country.
